ich finde den ansatz, die billag abzuschaffen gar nicht so schlecht. oder man könnte einfach mal den leistungsauftrag definieren und ausschreiben. wer weiss vielleicht findet sich jemand, der den krempel günstiger und besser erledigt. genausogut wie die billag würde sich auch die suisa als kandidat dafür eignen. ich bin selbst suisa mitglied und erhalte viel post, ab und zu einen batzen geld (wenig). alles offline, alles umständlich, alles richtig teuer. Tja so richtig auf der höhe sind sie an der bellariastrasse halt nicht. wie sonst kann man es im jahre 2009 wagen, PDF formulare ins netz zu stellen, die dann ausgedruckt und eingeschickt werden müssen um werke anzumelden? hier würde ein online cms mit mp3 uploadmöglichkeit den mitgliedern echte vorteile bringen. mal ganz abgesehen von den zu erwartenden effizienzsteigerungen bei der suisa administration. aber wer weiss.. vielleicht ist sowas ja in der pipeline. ich bin bestimmt nicht der einzige, der das gut finden würde.

Bored in Jeddah

So I'm in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and it's pretty much what I expected: Extremely hot (42 degrees) and totally boring. All you can (could) do is eating, sleeping, working and shopping. The food is very good though but forget your glass wine or beer to go with it. You'll learn to appreciate a fine glass of pepsi though. I flew here with Saudi Arabian airlines. What a disaster! The crappiest airline ever. Stone-age aircraft, tasteless food, censored movies and crappy service even in business class. Not to mention that they don't serve alcohol. On the plus side of the trip I have to mention the very friendly people here. It feels pretty save (although I haven't been in the city on my own yet) and if you're lucky you can even watch football on television (in arabic though). Here's a foto of the view from the hotel. On the bottom right you can see the useless military post guarding the hotel from potential terrorist attacks. Oh and the huge smoke you can see in the harbour is somewhat a fire that broke out this morning. It's gone by now though.. Anyway enjoy your time in a free country - and don't take it for granted!

Sieg und Niederlage liegen manchmal nahe beieinander... aber schauen wir nach vorne.. auf den nächsten Match gegen Portugal wo wir völlig entspannt zuschauen können. Das ist gut für die Nerven, die Lebern und die Lungen der Schweizer..! 

Hände hoch...

...wen die Euro auch schon vor Beginn nervt. Ich jedenfalls finde das Theater rund um die Euro übertrieben. Umfahrung (durch mein Quartier), überall Fahnen und Festhütten, Fanmeilen, die ganzen Warenhäuser voll mit Fanartikeln und Werbung im TV dreht sich nur noch ums Leder. Egal was für ein Produkt.. irgend ein Fussball-Zusammenhang findet sich schon. Und wer ist eigentlich so blöd und holt sich ausgerechnet jetzt einen neuen Fernseher ins Haus? Echt.. bin froh hab ich Ferien WÄHREND der Euro gebucht. Auf ein frühes Ausscheiden der Schweizer.

1) Immediacy (at the moment of release)
2) Personalization (tweaked to suit your needs)
3) Interpretation (help on content, support)
4) Authenticity (the true real thing, authorized or legal)
5) Accessibility (access anytime, easy)
6) Embodiment (physical, e.g. concert, printed copy)
7) Patronage (support and connect to artists & creators of content)
8) Findability (probably the most important one)

10 things that annoy me when booking holidays online

Inspired by this post I happily open the rant on the 10 things that annoy me when booking (or trying) to book holidays online:

• Having to chose the *exact* destination
• Having to chose the *exact* departure and return date
• Pop Ups
• No filtering options (e.g. the possibility to filter by interests rather than price / destination)
• Too many colours, options and distracting elements
• Not being able to save a search or a quote and come back later
• Online booking sites, which pretend to be an online booking site (but in reality they send an e-mail to their staff)
• Fancy web 2.0 features such as calendar pop ups at Swiss Site
• Timed features such as pop ups which don't go away before I have spent enough time to read them
• Any site which does not provide FULL functionality for my opera browser

Ich bin einer, der sich auch mal vorschnell ein Urteil bildet. Bei dieser neuen Sendung habe ich bewusst dreimal hingeschaut, um beurteilen zu können, wie sich das Ganze entwickelt. Es gibt Leute, die sagen, gebt den beiden etwas Zeit. Ich weiss nicht: Bei mir locken die zwei kaum ein Zucken in den Mundwinkeln hervor und herzhaft gelacht habe ich eigentlich nie. Zu steril, zu geplant und zu plump wirken die Sprüche. Man möchte spontan agieren, ist aber sichtbar bemüht die geplanten Themen anzuschneiden und dies in der dafür vorgesehenen Zeit. Neben dem Studiokaffee kochen die beiden auch gehörig alten Kaffee auf, so zum Beispiel den Waschbrettbauch von Bastien Girod oder die angeblichen Zustände in der Stadt Bern. Nein, bei mir ist die Sendung definitiv völlig gefloppt. Ich sehe auch wenig Potential, dass sich das noch entwickelt. Einmal mehr zeigt sich, dass die Schweizer keine Live Talkshows machen können und Mike und Viktor sind hier keine Ausnahme. Ein Glück, dass die Classe Politique Bundeshaus-Soap im Anschluss lief, die sind wenigstens lustig!
